Foot Science International (FSI), a world leading New Zealand based supplier of customisable orthotics, recently received both ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 certification for the company’s manufacturing facilities, located in Christchurch.
ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 are established quality standards, created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the largest developer and publisher of international standards for the implementation of quality management systems.
General manager Greg Thompson, says ISO 9001:2008 accreditation highlights that the company has a quality management system in place that provides the foundation for better customer satisfaction, staff motivation and continual improvement.
'ISO 13485:2003 takes this further, and shows that we meet the ISO requirements for a comprehensive quality management system used specifically in the design and manufacture of medical devices.'
'Everyone involved with our products benefits. It gives them an assurance that we have top quality as priority in all aspects of our business – and that's something to feel very proud of.'
'We've never once changed our desire to provide the very best product, and the very best service to our customers. It's a key to our success and to the incredibly loyal customer base we have, and it's the daily focus for every single member of our team,' he explains.
